The Winds of Time is an awesome looking mod pack that combines two Legend of Zelda favorites.

The Legend of Zelda has so many memorable games in its series, but two particularly beloved entries are being combined in a very impressive mod pack. A modder who goes by BigSharkZ is remaking various elements of Ocarina of Time in Wind Waker, calling it Winds of Time.

While not a fully playable version of OoT in WW, the work put into modding these aspects over is very impressive. Just some of the elements we see in the above video are a Toon Adult Link, various environments, including the Temple of Time and Kokiri Forest, and aspects from other games like Majora’s Mask items, Midna from Twilight Princess, and more.

The Winds of Time was initially teased as an April Fool’s joke by BigSharkZ three years ago with the trailer below. After seeing the love people had for the video, BigSharkZ set out to complete the project fully, though time and life got in the way, so the project has been scaled back a bit. Regardless, all of the various aspects that have been worked into Winds of Time are things we would love to try out when it is released.

The Winds of Time modpack especially stands out to us because it still looks like a lot of fun to play while looking great. Wind Waker’s art style is timeless in our eyes. Compare this to something like when people would put Ocarina of Time into Unreal Engine, where the game instantly just doesn’t look as fun, even though it gets a significant boost in visual fidelity.

We highly applaud BigSharkZ and the rest of the modders working on Winds of Time. You can support, follow, and find their other work on Twitter, GameBanana, and Patreon.
