The Fallout TV show made a massive splash when it debuted back in April 2024, drawing both television and gaming fans in. Those who had never experienced the Fallout series as a whole immediately fell in love with the post-apocalyptic story, and fans of the games loved the attention to detail. One character who drew some of the most attention is Walton Goggins’ character named The Ghoul. While you will be able to see more of this character in Fallout Season 2, Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul will also be making the jump to Fallout 76 in an upcoming update titled Burning Springs.

Bethesda announced that there will be another massive update for Fallout 76, adding some major additions to the game, including a large map expansion and The Ghoul from the Fallout TV series. During the dev talk, creative director Jon Rush said, “Burning Springs is in total tonal tandem with Fallout season two, featuring desert, deathclaws, and raiders.” The desert mentioned is in none other than rural southeastern Ohio, where the map will expand to cover even more of the area surrounding West Virginia.

One of the biggest additions that is coming with the update, outside of the map expansion, is the addition of bounty hunting missions. You will need to form a group and try to take on Appalachia’s most wanted. These missions will be given to you by none other than Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul. If you thought that this update would take a while, you’d also be wrong, as the team confirmed that the update will “coincide with the timing of the premiere of the Amazon Fallout series season two that’s coming this December.” This is exciting news, especially for those who have wanted to see more of The Ghoul outside the TV show.
