Senua’s Sage: Hellblade 2 is finally here after years of waiting. While the game was originally shown as the first Xbox Series X game, a lot has changed since then. We are multiple years into the current generation, and life is quite different from that reveal in late 2019. While the game was originally billed to be a full Xbox exclusive, will Hellblade 2 come to PS5?

Will Hellblade 2 release on PlayStation?

As of this writing, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is not announced to come to PS5. At least at its launch, the game will be exclusively on Xbox and PC. However, don’t be surprised if that changes in the future. Xbox is showing a lot of willingness to release their previous exclusive games on other hardware.

Earlier in the year, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Hi-Fi Rush were released on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The first two games made sense to make the move over to expand their online player base, but the latter were single-player-only games that had reached their ceiling sales-wise and were experimented with to see how they do on other platforms. Whether it’s later in 2024 or sometime next year, we wouldn’t be shocked to see Hellblade 2 make the jump to PS5.

Another aspect that makes us feel more confident that Hellblade 2 will come to PlayStation 5 eventually is the fact that the original game started as a PS4 exclusive. Obviously, that changed with time, but there are plenty of people who probably think of that game as a PlayStation game. Microsoft might want to exploit that to get as many sales of the game as possible later on after engagement slows on its own platforms.
