The next Magic the Gathering Arena Open is May 4th – 5th. Available to players 18 and older, prizes are awarded to those who do well in Best-of-One and Best-of-Three online matches. For those who enjoy this strategic fantasy card game, this is a chance to earn monetary prizes as well as an invitation to the June Qualifier Weekend. And bragging rights, of course.

Outlaws and other dangers prowl the frontier of Thunder Junction, but great rewards abound for those with the spurs to charge in and take them.” – Arena Open competition page

This Arena Open is titled Outlaws of Thunder Junction. The first day promises timed, 30-minute matches. If you win seven Best-of-One matches, you go on to compete in Day Two. If you win four Best-of-Three matches, you will also compete in Day Two. Gems are used as the entry fee for this competition. Qualifying for the second day also earns you an Outlaws of Thunder Junction card sleeve.

Day Two carries on the same timed match format. Doing fairly well in the competition gets you gems as a prize. But doing exceptionally well earns cash prizes from $500, $1,000, and $2,000. If you win a cash prize, you also will be invited to their Qualifier Weekend in June for greater competition and more prizes.

This Arena Open from Magic the Gathering is a great way to have fun with the card game you know so well while also getting the opportunity to earn some cash on the side. So prepare your decks and choose your spells wisely, it’s time to play!
