Developer Sloclap is off to a hot start as it pertains to sales on Rematch, a new popular arcade soccer game. The numbers just came in and the game has hit a staggering 1 million copies in just five days, despite being available in Xbox Game Pass. Rematch has been the talk of the town since its launch, setting an all-time peak player count on Steam to the tune of 92,841 players at launch according to Steam DB.

Sloclap revealed via the below X post that Rematch brought in one million unique players within the first 24 hours after launch. The game continued to snowball and Sloclap just officially revealed that Rematch has already sold over 1 million units and surpassed 2.5 million players across all platforms which includes the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Other numbers provided by Sloclap include unique player stats with 69.12 million goalkeeper saves, 58.58 million goals scored, 33,54 million assists and 11.78 million matches played.

One million unique players in 24 hours. Seeing so many of you jump into Rematch on day one is incredible.🫶

The whole team is super grateful! And already hard at work on fixing and improving the game.

While more simulation soccer games like FIFA exist and have dominated the genre for ages now, soccer fans have been left without a new fresh take on their favorite sport. Titles like Rocket League may have satisfied this hunger for a while but cars playing the sport can only scratch that itch for so long. The lack of a true arcade soccer game has been a glaring absence and Rematch has come along to satisfy that hunger for the moment. Once you factor in the large audience the sport has around the globe, a lower price point when compared to most games like it and its availability on Xbox Game Pass, things look to be trending in the right direction for Rematch from a sales and player engagement standpoint.
