We now live in a world where Call of Duty is officially under the mighty Xbox umbrella, and with arguably the biggest gaming IP to date under their belt this opens up a ton of avenues for new and exciting content. Of course, when we talk about live service games, a game like Call Of Duty collaborates with some of pop culture’s biggest IPs. Over the years, within the Warzone battle royale mode specifically, we’ve seen a ton of exciting and sometimes out there collaborations with Call Of Duty that range from shows like The Boys, games like Fallout, and even the WWE. With the game having just come out, I thought it would be fun to speculate a little bit as for what Black Ops 6 collaborations we could see within this game in the near future.
Halo
With this being the inaugural Xbox centric launch for Call Of Duty, I think we should start off this list in rather bold fashion. Halo has always been the crown jewel for Xbox since the platform’s inception. With rumors also making the rounds that a Halo battle royale mode Xbox could easily migrate Master Chief into the world of Call of Duty and give fans a truly mind blowing experience. The only hang-up in this regard is keen eyed readers would be quick to note we’ve seen the chief in a setting just like this within Warzone’s direct competitor Fortnite.
Gears of War
Next up is another Xbox flagship franchise and this man is no stranger to war. That’s right Gears Of War is another IP I think Black Ops 6 collaborations should look heavily into. With a title like Gears Of War: E-Day on the horizon, fans all over the world have been clamoring for a taste of some new content. Not to mention it’s been a rather long time since the last Gears Of War game. E-Day itself might just be this soft reboot of sorts for the franchise as well. So introducing this IP to a new wave of younger and unfamiliar Gears Of War fans that exist within Call Of Duty would be a two for one deal on Xbox’s part. Plus seeing the faces of beloved characters such as Marcus Fenix, Dom, Baird, or even Cole Train would be a more than welcome addition to any game.
Doom: The Dark Ages
Now for this next entry I may be expanding on ground work that was laid in past Call Of Duty games like Modern Warfare 2. On October 9th 2023 Call Of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 released the Doom bundle which included the likes of a shotgun and chainsaw that looked like they were taken out of the original 1993 title. So this goes without saying the weapons are there but where is the man himself, or should I say guy?
Much like the Gears Of War scenario I am looking a tie in for a future game in Doom The Dark Ages that looks to be releasing in 2025 not only on the Xbox platform but PlayStation 5 as well. This is where we start to see some overlap in the world of Call Of Duty that’s already available on every major platform. So players who might get a kick out of playing as the Doomslayer in Warzone or Black Ops 6 multiplayer might find some enjoyment in the endless amount of classic DOOM violence that exists in a game like Doom The Dark Ages.
Battletoads and Conker
We’ve now reached a point where things could start to go off the rails as far as proposed Black Ops 6 collaborations go, especially when we look at the vast range of IPs that Xbox now holds. What’s really preventing such things happening is a thin line or morals but hey let’s have some fun here. I think we do live in a world where we could see the likes of the dragonborn from Skyrim pop up or even the wide cast of World Of Warcraft could join in on the fun. But I want to really take chances with this all and propose the emergence of the likes of various Rare IPs.
Now I am not going completely crazy and saying Banjo will pop up in this game which upon second thought would be entertaining. I want to go really far back in Rare’s catalog of characters and propose the likes of the Battletoads and Conker. Which route Rare and Xbox would take is primarily up to them, but when we factor in these two specific games and their cast of characters they’d be right at home in a game like Call Of Duty. And yes this wouldn’t be a Rare conversation without mention of Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark which does have a reboot for the franchise coming up fairly soon so of course a tie in collaboration would make plenty of sense there. But I wanted to really have fun with this list and propose some out there takes along the way.
Minecraft
Finally I think we should end on a bit of a high note and really get creative. Out of all the Xbox IP’s that exist today one has remained untouched and that may be for good reason. Now that Xbox has Call Of Duty in its assortment of games I think a Minecraft x Black Ops 6 collaboration might just break the internet. While stylistically speaking here things may be tough to translate a weapons skin or two would make for some great content. With the impending Minecraft Movie on the horizon, I am sure Xbox would like to market this movie as much as possible. When you have a game that has the pull like Call Of Duty yields at your disposal, there is money to be made.
