While there are plenty of people who can enjoy a simple survival game in Call of Duty Zombies, the real nuts are the ones who like to follow the mode’s story. There are usually plenty of hidden Easter eggs in Zombies maps, but a large chain of puzzles and combat sections can reveal the true story when players complete the main Easter egg quest. Is there a main Easter egg quest in MW3 Zombies?
No, at least at launch, there is no main Easter egg quest in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. When you start a game with your squad, you will be working alongside other squads to do various missions, which could be considered the main quest, but they are nowhere similar to the story missions Zombies fans are used to. Those will probably feel more like a standard Call of Duty campaign mission than anything related to Zombies.
If you are a fan of the story, though, there are story snippets that you can unlock by completing various challenges the game gives you. You can view what the requirements are for these in the Story Missions tab, or your next line of requirements will be shown as you get ready to queue for a game. Moving through this story will eventually get you a boss fight at the end of Act III.
While Treyarch is not working their main Easter egg quest magic for MW3 Zombies, developers have hinted that you will find numerous smaller Easter eggs on the map. As of this writing, there is no clue what you can expect from these, but we would hope for some fun and useful oddities that you usually would see in Zombies. In some cases, you could be rewarded with a gun, perk, or something else.
Zombies has been in a weird phase where the mode is trying many new things in recent years when we are sure plenty of fans want the basic experience. While it will be hard to wait longer, we expect your Easter egg-hunting squad to be forced into waiting for the good stuff until the next Black Ops game releases.
