One of the most impressive parts of the PlayStation 5 is its solid-state drive. Of course, the increased power over the previous generation is nice, but the improved loading times in these large games have made a massive difference. All that is seen in Spider-Man 2, where loading times are almost non-existent, even when fast traveling across the map. New York City is as large as expected, so you will want to teleport yourself even with the great web-swinging mechanics. Here is how to fast travel in Spider-Man 2.

How does fast travel work in Spider-Man 2?

Fast travel in Spider-Man 2 is pretty simple. Once you have unlocked it in a district, you only need to hold Triangle on the map where you want to go. The game will then zoom in on that position (or the nearest street), and the character you are playing will transition directly into gameplay. It’s a fast and smooth process that feels amazing compared to many other fast travel mechanics in games.

While the act of fast travel in Spider-Man 2 is easy, you can’t just do it whenever from the beginning. Every district has various objectives within you need to complete to raise its completion rating. Finish side quests, put an end to crimes, and grab collectibles to raise this rating. There are three rewards in each district. First, you’ll get Rare Tech parts, followed by fast travel in that area, and then Hero Tokens.

The PS5 has had some very cool feats on it, but Spider-Man 2’s fast travel is definitely up there with the most impressive. Insomniac Games has put out yet another very high-quality game that feels great to move around freely, has lots of great content to enjoy, and now they even made fast travel feel good.
