As you might expect in Palworld, a lot of your survival and progression will rely on your Pals. Whether it’s base building or exploring the wilds, your creatures are very helpful. That also extends into battles. While you can protect yourself to some degree, your best bet will be to work alongside Pals. However, a common bug is that they don’t help at all. Here is how to fix your Pals not attacking in Palworld.
Why are my Pals not attacking in Palworld?
To put it simply, at the time of this writing, Palworld is in early access and has a lot of bugs. Because the game isn’t finished, you will likely run into various issues, like crashes. Unfortunately, in the early days, battling, which is a significant part of the game, just doesn’t work sometimes. We are sure you have seen Pals and human enemies get stuck on nothing. You can throw out a Pal right on top of an enemy that you are actively in combat against, and maybe they’ll attack once or twice and then stand there.
What to try when your Pal is not attacking in Palworld
Unfortunately, there is no permanent fix for your Pals not attacking in Palworld. Until Pocketpair fixes the issue, it is something you will have to endure. That said, we have a couple of suggestions to limit the annoyance.
We recommend swapping Pals or just calling back the Pal and throwing them out again. This isn’t perfect. In our experience, they’ll maybe attack once or twice and then go back to watching you get hurt. Also, press 4 on PC or right stick on Xbox to bring up the Pal’s menu. Set them to aggressive to try and help, though the AI in the game is bad enough that this also is not a surefire fix.
If the above suggestion doesn’t work, we recommend completely shutting the game down and restarting. Again, this isn’t a guaranteed fix, but it should at least temporarily get things working again.
Hopefully, one of our suggestions can alleviate some frustration when playing Palworld. Pals not attacking can be the difference between victory and defeat in a battle, so we expect this to be on the higher priority list of fixes for the game.
