How to get the paraglider in Tears of the Kingdom

Before the release of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo unveiled many new tools for the champion hero Link. One of the new tools was the paraglider, which allowed players to travel great distances in the sky and hit the ground safely. Thanks to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom having a lot more verticality, the paraglider is needed now more than ever.

Tears of the Kingdom has many sky islands that you will access throughout the course of your journey, with the first being the Great Sky Island. If you want to get down from them safely, you will want the glider. This guide will show you how to get the paraglider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to find the glider in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

When you start the game, you will be placed on the Great Sky Island. Getting down from this island is simple; you jump. Unfortunately, you won’t have the paraglider to save you from the fall so you better land in some water. Once you land, your task will be to find Lookout Landing.

When you reach Lookout Landing, you will meet Purah. She is the head of Lookout Landing and the one who created the Purah Pad. During the story, she will tell you about the Lookout Towers. When you interact with the first one at Lookout Landing, you will be given the paraglider so you can return to the ground safely.

How to use the paraglider in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To use the paraglider, you simply need to start by being in the air. This can be from falling or just from jumping. While you are in the air, you will see a prompt appear. Press the X button while in the air to pull out the paraglider and start gliding back to the surface of Hyrule.

Pressing the Y button while in the air will cause you to put the glider away and plummet. Remember, using the paraglider will consume your stamina. Keep this in mind before deciding to go long distance, especially early on in the game.
