There are many materials that you will need to collect in Skull and Bones. These materials are used to craft weapons, ships, defensive attachments, and more. Of course, as you progress, you will ultimately need to find more difficult-to-obtain materials. For instance, you might be wondering how to get Wood Tar. Well, it comes at a great price or through difficulty.

While you might be searching for Tar, you can also be on the lookout for other materials such as Bronze Ingot. After all, you will need all the materials you can get if you want to survive on the high seas. This guide will show you how to get Wood Tar in Skull and Bones as well as the best way to farm Wood Tar.

How to get Wood Tar in Skull and Bones

If you want to get Wood Tar, you can do so by purchasing it from merchants, destroying Compagnie Ships, or plundering Compagnie settlements around the southern Coast of Africa. Each of these methods can get you the material in question. If you plan on purchasing it, expect to pay around 600 Silver for the material. After all, it is a rare item in the game.

The other methods of obtaining this specialized material will get you more since merchants have limited stock. Be careful when attempting to attack settlements or ships in the area because they are higher level. We recommended having your ship at around rank eight or nine before attempting to attack these settlements.

Best way to farm Wood Tar

The best method of farming Wood Tar is to attack the settlements and ships in the southern part of the Coast of Africa. You can take the Southwest passage over to these areas. The best location is Port Des Mines thanks to the many trade routes that pass through it. You can easily get a lot of materials here. Of course, this comes with a cost since the ships will be a higher level.

You can more easily get this material by going around to the merchants marked on the map and purchasing it. This will get you around five or six tar with each trip but it will also cost you a lot of Silver so be sure to battle many ships along the way to stock up on cash whenever you go to a settlement. There’s also a chance you will come across some highly aggressive captains here who will attack you on sight.
