Can you play Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 4? The previous Spider-Man game was solely on PlayStation 4. After that, Spider-Man: Miles Morales went on to be a cross-generational game appearing on both PS4 and PS5. With there being a new Spider-Man game coming to PlayStation, it is understandable to wonder if it will also be cross-generational.
In Spider-Man 2, you will get the opportunity to play both Miles Morales and Peter Parker. To go even further, Insomniac is even throwing the symbiote Venom into the mix. The developers are also expanding New York so they can introduce new boroughs like Queens and Brooklyn. There is no doubt that this will be a massive game. That being said, will it end up on both consoles? Is Spider-Man 2 on PS4?
Will Spider-Man 2 come to PS4?
Nope. Unfortunately, Spider-Man 2 will not be coming to PlayStation 4. This is very unfortunate for those who loved the previous two games in the series and haven’t made the transition over to PlayStation 5 yet. It would be nice to see the game make its way to the last-gen console but this transition has been happening for a while.
Since the release of the PS5, more and more games have been created as being next-gen only, meaning that they only appear on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Previous titles Forspoken, Starfield, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and more have all been next-gen exclusive games, meaning that this shift has been gradually happening.
Spider-Man 2 is just one of the newer titles to add to the list of next-gen exclusives. More will eventually join the list as the older consoles get phased out and replaced. The reason for Spider-Man 2 not being on PS4 is most likely due to the system’s lack of strength. Newer consoles have much faster load times, better graphics, and enhanced CPUs that make them better at handling games, especially those with larger maps.
