How long is Starfield?

Starfield is unquestionably the most anticipated Xbox exclusive in a long time. People who can’t wait for the game to hit Game Pass in a week have put down all kinds of money just to hop in early. Things are a little rough in the early going, though. Here is how to fix Starfield early access not working.

How to get Starfield early access to work

If you are trying to launch Starfield and it says you are too early, you are not alone. Many early adopters are finding that they can’t get into the game. Unfortunately, there isn’t really a known fix at the moment, but we do have some suggestions.

First, we highly recommend fully restarting your console or your PC. Especially if your Xbox has been on all day, a restart can refresh the store and make sure that the store knows to launch the game. On PC it could be the same issue. Try fully shutting down your system and restarting it so that the Microsoft Store can reboot.

Outside of restarting your system, our only suggestion is to keep trying to launch the game every five minutes or so. Because so many people are jumping on at the same time to play, there is a chance that the Xbox storefront is on the brink of crashing from so much traffic. It is an unfortunate situation, but is not entirely rare for big releases like Starfield. You can try and uninstall and reinstall the game, but that could end up wasting more time for you. Some have said uninstalling the Premium Edition Upgrade and reinstalling it worked for them.

For people who put down money to play the game early, this is probably an aggravating situation. Luckily, if you give Xbox and Bethesda time to make sure everything is working on their end, you should be able to jump into your game pretty soon. Just try and be patient and watch social spaces for updates.
