There are five different weapons of each weapon type in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This means that you will only find five one-handed swords throughout your playthrough. While the options may be limited in each of the weapon categories, they all have distinct differences that set them apart from one another. If you are focused on using a one-handed sword build, you will want to pay attention. Here are all of the one-handed swords in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers ranked.
Every One-Handed Sword in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Ranked
As stated previously, you will find a total of five one-handed swords in the game. These are Darkfrost Edge, Astral Blade, the Zhanlu Sword, Boreal Abyss, and Plumed Grace. Each of these weapons has a different weapon skill that sets it apart from the others. Let’s break them all down.
Plumed Grace

My least favorite of the one-handed swords is Plumed Grace, which is sad since it is dropped by the game’s final boss. The weapon doesn’t offer stat bonus increases for the different attack types in the way that a normal one-handed sword does, and its weapon skill is pretty weak.
You are mostly supposed to focus on Feathering damage with this weapon, but it doesn’t make too much of a difference if you make that your only focus. Also, the weapon skill requires you to drain your maximum health to deal large amounts of damage with a single strike, but it often barely leaves a dent in an enemy’s health bar.
Zhanlu Sword

Next up in the ranking is the Zhanlu Sword – a weapon that is given to you by my favorite NPC, Nian Suichang. At first glance, this weapon seems pretty powerful, which it is. It boasts some of the highest damage from weapons in the one-handed sword category. Unfortunately, it falls short because of the lackluster weapon art and poor spell power increase.
A big part of using one-handed swords is taking advantage of the spell power increase, as this will enhance your spells, allowing you to deal more damage. This weapon doesn’t have the highest buff in that category, and it isn’t helped by the weapon skill that looks like Flickering Blade with none of the effect.
Darkfrost Edge

Darkfrost Edge is the first one-handed sword you get in the game, and it is a solid choice to take with you all the way to the end. This is mostly because of its weapon skill, Evasive Maneuver, which allows you to avoid damage with ease.
Evasive Maneuver lets you dodge away from an attack, creating a charm in the process. Should the enemy hit the charm, you can then cast a spell to evade the attack entirely. It is amazingly effective against aggressive opponents who don’t know how to let up, and has saved my life on multiple occasions.
Astral Blade

One of my favorite weapons in the game is one that you get relatively early on, and it is called Astral Blade. This weapon doesn’t have the best damage, and is actually weaker than Plumed Grace, but it makes up for it by having the highest spell power buff in the game – something that becomes very powerful in the late game.
Using Astral Blade, I was able to craft a high-damage magic build that carried me to the end of the game with ease. The Awakening Seal weapon skill also allows you to ramp up the amount of Skyborn Might you get from Biding Time, something very useful for those who want to cast a lot of spells.
Boreal Abyss

The best one-handed sword in the game is, by far, Boreal Abyss. While it doesn’t have the best spell power buff, it makes up for it by having the highest physical damage output of all the one-handed swords. It comes complete with a fan that has a frosty surprise.
Using the weapon skill, Icebound Escape, you can avoid damage while also throwing out a fan of ice daggers. These daggers inflict Frostbite on your enemies, which can be increased through the use of different Pendants. Stacking up this status effect will allow you to deal large chunks of damage to your opponents very quickly. Plus, the evasion is very useful when you are in a tight spot.
