As you play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you will be continually putting an end to many crimes that happen around New York City. While many of them will be simple muggings or burglaries, you will start coming across groups of cult members who love setting things on fire. Of course, you need to fight them, but once the combat is done, you must extinguish the flames to complete the task. Here is how to put out fires in Spider-Man 2.

How to stop fires in Spider-Man 2

To put out fires from arson crimes in Spider-Man 2, you only need to shoot the flames with your webshooters. Press R1 a couple of times with the flames on screen and Peter or Miles should automatically aim right at them, assuming that no enemies are fighting you. You can also hold L2 to aim it down, but we found this side content always seems to lock on automatically.

It only takes a couple of shots at the fire in that location will be doused. It is very convenient and useful that these webs that Peter made are fireproof and can also conduct electricity. There seems to be a use for them in just about every situation.

The arson crimes in Spider-Man 2 are not really that different from your usual brawl with thugs. Fighting these cult members will have you watch out for thrown molotovs and parrying your way out of flamethrowers engulfing you, but at the end of the day, they’re just another fight. The little add-on at the end to taking care of the fire yourself is something “your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” would probably do if he had the means to, but it doesn’t add much to the gameplay. Just a couple of quick shots and you can move on.
