Lies of P took the soulslike community by storm when it was released back in 2023. Nearly three years later, there are still many fans of the game, and there are many who are still discovering it to this day. Nearly two years after the game’s release, it received a DLC called Overture that further expanded the world, added new bosses, and increased play styles with more weapons. Now, Nough Studio, developer of Lies of P, and formerly Roud 8 Studio, has shared some behind-the-scenes information in a short YouTube documentary about their work on Lies of P. The team also teased its next title.

The Studio’s Next Game Will Be “Emotionally Moving”

Nough Studio released a 16-minute documentary on YouTube, detailing some behind-the-scenes information about its work on Lies of P. It details how they kept “testing and refining” the game leading up to its release. In the video, director Choi Jiwon stated, “The players can always tell when a game has been made with real decisions.”

“We are gamers before we are developers. So we keep testing and refining without compromise until everyone on the team is genuinely satisfied with what we’ve made.”

The studio has a different take on game development. It has what they call “Game Day,” which is a day where the team pauses development, allowing everyone to pick up the game and try it out while thinking of it from a gamer’s perspective. This “changes how we approach testing,” stated Kwon Byungsoo, the studio’s narrative director.

Jiwon Choi teased what the studio has next as it moves on from Lies of P. The director stated the next title will be “really fun and emotionally moving.” He went on to say, “We’re giving it everything we have to make it the best it can be. So please, just wait a little longer. You won’t be disappointed, we promise. This is the truth, not a lie.”
