Of all the video games to have its information leaked ahead of schedule, no other series has to have as much of a history of leaks as Assassin’s Creed. There have been some wild leaks in the past in regard to this. It doesn’t matter which game it is; Ubisoft cannot plug up these leaks fast enough. We’re not sure this situation will ever be beat, though, as the Assassin’s Creed Shadows art book was leaked onto a hentai website before being taken down.
The Assassin’s Creed Shadows art book was found by a user on Reddit in its entirety on a site called e-hentai. Though it has been taken down now, it apparently had over 200 images on it, including concept art for the cities, armor, characters, and more that appear in the game. Also, some story spoiler content was included in the pages as well. Ubisoft has also been hitting other downloads of the book with DMCAs.
If you are unaware, “hentai” is pornographic anime or manga and no, Assassin’s Creed Shadows does not have any of that in the final game, at least we presume if Ubisoft wants the game to be able to sell well. According to commenters on the Reddit thread, the site where it was found is known for scanning and uploading video game manuals and art books, but even if that is the case, you wouldn’t expect this to be the place to learn stuff about Assassin’s Creed early.
As noted above, Assassin’s Creed and Ubisoft are no strangers to content leaking ahead of the planned schedule. With the release date being pushed into March from the upcoming Valentine’s Day slot it recently had, it just leaves more time for things like this to happen.
