The Borderlands movie actor choices are drawing some attention after a teaser for the movie has gone live. Fans always argue about who should play the role of their favorite characters whenever a new video game movie is made. Unfortunately, there seems to be a universal agreeance with the Borderlands movie that there were some poor choices made by the higher-ups. The comments weren’t only focused on the actors but how they were portrayed in the 10-second teaser. We miss the days when people were just hyped about Borderlands 4.
Earlier today, the official Borderlands X page posted a teaser for the Borderlands movie which is set to release in August. While this was meant to purely be a way to hype up the official trailer going live tomorrow, the Borderlands movie actor choices have drawn a lot of unwanted attention. Some users commented talking about how Kevin Hart is not meant to play Roland. Others even mentioned that Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t fit for the role of Tannis.
After the teaser, the official movie poster was posted and this brought even more attention. So what has fans so bothered? For starters, many commented saying that Kevin Hart isn’t fit to be Roland because of the character’s stoic and reserved nature. One user commented about Cate Blanchett’s portrayal of Lilith by saying, “IF this is Lilith, aka ‘Firehawk,’ it’s going to be the same as V1 sonic. pathetic.” Another user commented on Jack Black playing CL4PTRAP by saying, “How hard could it have been to get the same voice actor for Claptrap.” Some even mentioned how Jamie Lee Curtis is much too old to portray Tannis correctly.
We couldn’t help but notice in the clips and poster that Lilith is missing her signature Siren tattoos. This is something that seems like a major oversight for the team considering every Siren is supposed to have them. Our only thought is that maybe they will appear when she uses her powers but it’s up in the air. We will just need to wait and see what happens when the trailer officially drops.
