A cosplayer is working on a new outfit from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but she has a rare opportunity. Reddit user Fullmetalharmony is an amputee who creates cosplays around characters missing their hand or arm. Given Link’s latest adventure with Rauru’s arm, she has started outfitting her prosthetic to look like Tears of the Kingdom Link’s arm.

Obviously, the work isn’t quite done with the prosthetic, but seeing a functioning arm that looks so similar to what is in Tears of the Kingdom is really cool. In particular, we like the glowing light on the back of the hand. She has said she will work on making the whole thing glow before building some armor and weapons for the cosplay.

The prosthetic itself wasn’t built by Fullmetalharmony. It is a professionally made device that she repurposes for her cosplays. Regardless, it is truly great to see someone take advantage of a unique situation to create awesome costumes for her favorite characters.

If you are unsure of how the hand functions, Fullmetalharmony has explained how it works. It is a Myoelectric Prosthetic. The upper part of the prosthetic has sensors that detect when she flexes a muscle in her arm. Flexing one way can open, while another will close it. That glowing button on the back decides the pattern in which the fingers move.

If you want to see more of Fullmetalharmony’s cosplays, she has posted photos of her dressed up as Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, Ash Williams from the Evil Dead series, and Finn from Adventure Time. Our hats are off to all the talented cosplayers that make great work like this. We can’t wait to see the Tears of the Kingdom cosplay when Link’s arm and everything else is finished.
