Since its official release on 28 June, MINTROCKET’s debut game Dave The Diver has sold 1 million copies. In the short time since the game’s launch, Dave the Diver has peaked at a huge 98,480 concurrent players and 66,669 Twitch viewers, according to SteamDB.
The team behind the game tweeted its thanks to the people who have been supporting it, including a photo of a special rice cake topped with an image of the game’s characters made to celebrate the accomplishment.
Dave The Diver is a single-player adventure RPG in which you are tasked with diving into an ever-changing hole in the sea to catch the fish for a new sushi restaurant, which you are also in charge of staffing.
Despite the unusual premise, the game has been met with a lot of praise from the community, with 97% of the Steam reviews being positive ones. In response to the game hitting the 1 million sales milestone, many players reached out to congratulate the team on its success with others saying they were awaiting its release on other platforms. One fan said it was the “best $17 ever spent”.
