A few months back, Bethesda Game Studios revealed that Fallout 76 plauers will be able to live out all their post-apocalyptic dreams as a ghoul. Lately, things have gone radio silent and Fallout fans have been wondering if this update will ever see the light of day. Thanks to a recent update we now have more information as to when we could expect this update and how it’s way more than just a cosmetic option.
Fallout 76 Player Ghoul update release date
Bethesda will indeed be dropping the “Player Ghoul” update in March of 2025, which pairs nicely with the game’s 20th season. If you so choose to take on a new form as a ghoul, at level 50 the player will unlock a plethora of new attributes like healing and the glowing one ability through means of radiation.
Along with new attributes players could then gain access to a total of twenty eight new perks and two new legendary perks. In your travels, just be sure to keep a close eye on your feral meter which takes the place of your typical hunger and thirst meter. If you feel like the ghoul life isn’t for you there is an option to transform back free of charge if you don’t happen to like the play style that comes with your new look.
Speaking of your new look, characters throughout Appalachia will react to your new ghoul form. One group to look out for in particular is the Brotherhood First Expeditionary Force which will refuse to work with ghouls and take rather dramatic measures if you cross paths with them. Fear not, though, because players will not be locked out of quests involving them because there will be an option to “fool” them and advance in the plot.
With the updates coming to Fallout 76 slowly being churned out, it’s safe to say this ghoul update will be a very welcome addition to the fold. And it’s going to be really interesting to see all of the cool character builds Fallout fans will have waiting for you once you venture into the wasteland.
