Cosmetics are always very popular in games. While some of the armor bonuses are nice in Helldivers 2, there is no denying that many players purchase certain armor because of the looks. With that being said, many players have recently been bringing up the topic of armor customization. Sure there are some nice armor sets in Helldivers 2 but it would certainly be nice to mix and match different sets without making your character look bad in the process. This is especially true for the armors that have wildly different colors. This is also why many have been asking for a color-match option in Helldivers 2.
Recently, Arrowhead released the Truth Enforcers warbond for Helldivers 2, giving players access to even more armor sets, additional weapons, and skins for the game’s vehicles. It may be thanks to the new armor designs that players are so infatuated with the idea of increased customization. For instance, user Dan4Skinner on Reddit, posted an image of an updated UI for the armory. This updated menu shows an option labeled “helmet options.” In the next slide, it shows the ability to color-match the helmet with the armor you are currently wearing.
This is a quality-of-life change that players have been asking for since the early days of the game’s release. Some in the comments even suggested a different way of implementing this change. One user stated that Arrowhead should offer armor styles as purchasable rewards in upcoming Warbonds instead of vehicle skins. This way the entire armor set you are currently wearing can be affected. Others suggested adding the ability to purchase armor colors from the super store. It would be nice to see more skins added to the game along with a color match option. This isn’t beyond the realm of possibility since Arrowhead has been paying close attention to player demands. A great example of this is the buffs the devs made to the game’s various weapons after players complained about the constant nerfing.
