Congratulations Helldivers, you managed to go on a killing spring and take down the Terminid menace for democracy. The latest major order from Arrowhead was a simple one. It took our sights off the Automatons and shifted it over to the Terminids. This order was to kill 2 billion Terminids within a week. Now that is a hefty order. Unfortunately for high command, that number was a bit too small for the like of the Helldiver army that was ready to drop into the Mirin Sector.
That’s right, within a 24-hour period, the army of Helldivers dropping into the sector managed to overtake the Terminids and complete the weekly order. We did not expect to be writing about the completion of this order so soon but the Helldivers have been relentless on their pursuit of the bug menace. We checked the progress around 5pm – 6pm ET and the player base was already at 91%. Only a few hours later and it was complete.
User L4U_688 shared the new order on Reddit when it went live earlier in the day on Monday. Players were quick to make jokes in the comments about how the number should be much higher than 2 billion with one user stating, “2 billion is nothing,” and another simply stating “pump up those numbers, boys!”
Roughly six hours after the order went live, smktwnety2 on Reddit posted the progress showing that the Helldivers had already killed almost 1 billion Terminids. Another user posted progress a few hours later showing that we had already completed 77% of the mission. It just goes to show you that Arrowhead seriously underestimated the resolve of the community and how much they hate bugs.
The community managers of the Helldivers 2 Discord have taken notice and even congratulated our efforts in spreading democracy. Even Twinbeard, one of the devs, congratulated the community’s efforts in the fight, letting everyone know “there will be ample opportunities for additional biomass production in the future. The official time it took to take down all the bugs is 12 hours and 5 minutes. Great work team! You’ve earned your Liber-Tea!
