Marvel Rivals is about to enter its third season, and fans are understandably hyped. The next season of the game will introduce some new playable characters, offer more customization options, and also introduce more missions to the game. There is a lot to look forward to, and those of you who are college students will get special perks going forward. Let’s break down everything you need to know about season 3: The Abyss Awakens.
Everything you need to know about Marvel Rivals Season 3
There are plenty of new additions coming in Season 3 of Marvel Rivals. For starters, there will be two new heroes. On top of this, fans can look forward to a new map, new team-up abilities, more character customization, and more. For a full breakdown, check out the Marvel Rivals X Page.
New Heroes: Phoenix and Blade
Blade has been teased for a little while now in Marvel Rivals, so it is nice to know that he will be added to the game in Season 3 as a playable character. The main focus, however, is on Jean Grey: A.K.A. the Phoenix.
Jean Grey was revealed as part of the season 3 announcement for Marvel Rivals. She will join the roster as a duelist, bringing the total number of duelists in the game up to 21, much more than Vanguard or Strategist. Her ultimate ability allows her to “clear enemy summons from the battlefield.” This would undoubtedly be helpful in the coming seasons.
New Map
The next map for Marvel Rivals that will arrive in Season 3 is Klyntar. This map is where the main story of the season will take place. In the Marvel comics, Klyntar is the planet of the Symbiotes.
More Character Customization
Additional character customization options are coming in season 3 of Marvel Rivals. First, players will have access to accessories. The first batch of accessories will be for Winter Soldier, Psylocke, Groot, Rocket, Jeff, Invisible Woman, Emma Frost, and Spider-Man. These will be bought using accessory points, which are earned by completing quick matches and competitive matches.
In addition to this, players will be able to get more chroma color variants of different skins. To take it even further, some of these costumes will offer ultimate VFX. This will change the look of your ultimate ability, but will not alter the look for other players for clarity on the battlefield.
College Student Bonuses
The developers revealed that starting in season 3 of Marvel Rivals, “verified university students will enjoy costume trials.” After you are verified, you will get access to 10 costumes. This is great news for college students who want access to even more features.
