There are 14 weapons to choose from in Monster Hunter Wilds with each one having its own unique playstyle. Well, unless you choose to use the Light Bowgun or Heavy Bowgun. Those are fairly similar to each other. That aside, you might be thinking that you have chosen a very popular weapon. On the flip side, you might think you have chosen a weapon that only a handful of players use. Well, someone has broken down the weapon popularity in Monster Hunter Wilds, and here is where your weapon falls on the list.

Monster Hunter Wilds weapon popularity

User GoodboyLucas recently posted a chart on the MH Wids SubReddit depicting the popularity of each weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds. This chart breaks down what percentage of players use each weapon type in the endgame. While some weapons are surprising, others might throw you off.

According to the chart, the most used weapon in the game is the Long Sword at 15.7%. This is followed by the Dual Blades with a modest 12.6%. This comes as no surprise considering there have been many videos of players using the Dual Blades to enter full Attack on Titan mode when facing the largest of foes.

The other most popular weapons are the Great Sword at 11.5% and the Sword and Shield at 10.1%. Surprisingly, the Insect Glaive, a generally popular weapon is sitting at only 3.8%. The least popular on the list is the Hunting Horn with an apparent 2.1% of players using this musical instrument to buff their allies and beat monsters senselessly. Perhaps the most surprising entry on the list is the Hammer with only 2.8% of players using it as their primary source of attack. After all, similar to the Dual Blades, the hammer has been seen hitting monsters’ heads since the day the game was released, leading many to believe it was more popular than it actually is.
