Pokémon TCG Pocket Finally Gets A Trading Feature And Fans Aren’t Happy

The Pokémon Company along with Creatures Inc. recently revealed Pokémon TCG Pocket will finally be getting a trading feature added to the game, but the community response was not what you’d expect.

It was recently revealed via the official Pokémon TCG Pocket’s X page that trading will be coming to the game by the end of January. Along with this announcement came with a set list of requirements that trainers must abide by to make a trade go through. Trades as of right now can only be done between friends within the game, trades need to be the same rarity and only cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island sets can be traded at this time. This in turn would rule out most of the promo cards you may have collected during your time on the app. And it is worth noting here that not all cards can be traded on day one and items must be consumed in order to trade which is where I believe star dust may come into play.

Once fans got ahold of this news many were quick to take to platforms like Reddit to voice their frustrations with one user by the name of Ashamed-Teaching6837 calling this a “Trash system”. In response to the large social outcry around the overall mechanics of the trading system Creatures Inc. put out a lengthy post on X claiming “Your concerns are seen. Once this feature becomes available, I’d like to invite everyone to try it and provide feedback. This way, the game can continue to evolve in an enjoyable way for everyone.” It’s also worth noting that there was no outright mention of if they would consider the points raised to them and aim to make changes. But with the backlash this feature has gotten along with an impending introduction of a fresh new set to the game it’s in their best interest to keep this positive momentum rolling and listen to the community at large.
