According to various leakers on Twitter, a bunch of third-party characters are set to come to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, including SpongeBob Squarepants, Steve and Alex from Minecraft, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Sonic Racing CrossWorlds leaks aren’t the only new info we have, though. Additionally, the sequel/follow-up to Sonic Frontiers is supposedly currently planned to release in November 2026. Here is a round-up of the leaks we have found.
Sonic Racing Crossworlds Character Leaks
Starting with the Sonic Racing CrossWorlds character leaks, multiple videos and images of SpongeBob racing through various tracks in the game have been seen on Twitter and Reddit. While he and Patrick will both bring the Patty Wagon vehicle with them, they also can race on a surfboard. That’s not all, as a Bikini Bottom racetrack has also been posted. All of these videos seem to be of older builds, so if they were to be announced this week at Summer Game Fest or another showcase, they might look slightly different. Below are F2Insider’s posts showing footage and images of the leaks.
These other posts include Alex from Minecraft driving a minecart as their vehicle, a TMNT racetrack and vehicles, Aang riding a hoverboard, and Nights also being included as a collab at some point.
Needless to say, it appears that Sega willing to go back to bringing in lots of outside characters to its latest racing game. In the past, we’ve seen various characters like Danica Patrick, Wreck-It Ralph, and Banjo-Kazooie. The difference is these additions are believed to be DLC additions or included in a season pass. With Crossworlds jumping between various worlds, it only leaves them more room for collaborations like this, but we would hope more Sega representatives get in besides just Nights in the future.
Sonic Frontiers Sequel Leaked Release
When p0wyful, another leaker who has been talking about the above characters coming to the game for days, was asked about the next mainline Sonic game (something we’re just going to refer to as Sonic Frontiers 2 until we have more info), they pointed to November 2026 as the release month.
They also say that while the sequel has a larger budget, the open zone design is being more “refined,” with focus being on improving the overall experience. Sonic Frontiers was largely considered a good game, but it did feel like something that could be improved on in future iterations.
