Stellar Blade will punish you for being a pervert. That’s right. If you lean heavily on Eve’s looks then the game will disable your shields and make things a lot tougher. This tends to be the opposite of what happens in games. After all, there are plenty of examples where skimpier outfits have higher stats. This has happened in games like World of Warcraft and other MMOs. This is not the case when it comes to Stellar Blade. In fact, the game will punish you for making Eve wear very little clothing.
Stellar Blade director Hyung-Tae Kim stated that they “recommend that you wear clothes as much as possible.” If you don’t, “The gameplay difficulty will increase dramatically.” Because of this, you will want Eve to wear clothing as much as possible. If you don’t the game is designed to cancel out your defective shields. This will ultimately end up getting you killed unless you get really good at dodging and parrying attacks. To put emphasis on this, Stellar Blade will punish you if you let Eve run around in a skin-tight suit.
We have seen controversy surrounding Stellar Blade’s main character as many have pointed out that she is too attractive. We believe that she is a fine character and there is no need to sexualize her. Some on X have come to the character’s aid showing they are excited about all of the outfit changes.
@TheSphereHunter showed their love for the game’s main character by showing off different images of outfits Eve wears throughout the game. Another user going by @Cyael on X told the developers they should make a man skin for Eve for those who are complaining about the character’s looks and have it blocked behind a difficult boss or paywall. With there already being controversy over the game we can probably expect more as it gets closer to the release date. For now, you can enjoy the Stellar Blade demo on PS5.
