Randy Pitchford is notoriously bad at interacting with the fanbase on X. Every time criticism arises, he is there to clap back with some heinous remark that leaves fans of the Borderlands series either in awe or fuming with rage, and today is no different. Borderlands 4 has been hit with tons of issues since its release on September 12, and fans have not been happy. While many have shared in the problems, the biggest issues have been affecting those playing on PC, with many giving Borderlands 4 negative reviews on Steam because of it.
Randy Pitchford Tells Players to “Play a Different Game”
Borderlands 4 players have been met with serious issues while attempting to play the new game from Gearbox. Many have complained about stuttering, frame rate drops, crashing, and more, with the biggest issues affecting those playing on PC. We have had our fair share of issues as well while trying to play co-op, but we have noticed a lack of issues while playing single-player. This also comes from the specs of our PC.
Recently, Pitchford made statements on his X account in regards to the issues, telling players how to optimize their game and help it run better. Many responded to the string of posts, with one user saying, “Randy, it took days to get your game to a state I could tolerate playing it.” They went on to say, “This is not a AAA feeling as a customer. Almost 100 dollars. Would you be happy buying a vehicle and finding out the only way you can go 60 miles per hour is by wearing drunk goggles?”
In response, Pitchford stated, “You can do whatever you want. The game is the game. Please get a refund from Steam if you aren’t happy with it.” Previously, the same user stated that the minimum specs would not hit 30 FPS. To this, Pitchford responded, “Min spec absolutely plays at 30fps. Recommended spec plays at 60fps. Good systems with good tuning can go much, much higher.”
Borderlands 4 has yet to receive a patch to fix any of the game’s issues. If you are playing on PC, it is helpful to adjust some of the game’s settings and to download the latest drivers.
