After a week that has been jam packed with gaming news galore, Xbox is last up on the docket for their Xbox Summer Showcase. At this event fans should expect a wide range of titles to be announced along with a sizeable deep dive into Gears of War: E-day. But the true magic of show lies within the surprises that Xbox has in store for long time fans, and it looks like this time around this surprise features an iconic purple dragon.

Hot For the Summer

Over recent years we’ve seen the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon both see somewhat of a resurgence. Both of the legendary gaming icons have gotten remakes of their respective titles but Spyro has yet to receive a new game. And according to new claims stemming from the known Rayman leaker noarmsandnolegs on X a new spyro game is brewing and it could be revealed tomorrow.

NEW SPYRO GAME : What we know so far 🔥

– Includes RPG elements, Shadow Legacy’s vibe

– Could contains a beach / island hub

– A well known villain could be back as main antagonist

– Developed by Toys for Bob since years, don’t know if it’s them now

According to the leaker, this title will include RPG elements and contain a beach/ island hub world. Along with that, a well-known villain from the series could potentially return as the main villain, but hasn’t been identified specifically. Lastly, this title was being developed by Toys for Bob for years, but the leaker doesn’t know if they’re still on the project at this point in time.

Taking Flight

As for all rumors, this should be taken with a dragon-sized grain of salt. At the same time, it’s not too crazy for fans to expect a pretty strong showing from Xbox at this upcoming Summer Showcase. With titles like Fable, Gears of War, and Halo most likely being heavily featured, it would only be right to include one of gaming’s most iconic characters in Spyro.
