The release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is approaching quickly, with the game set to be officially released on November 14, 2025. Until then, Black Ops 7 has one final chance to impress the masses and convince them that the game is worth pre-ordering. With the open beta going on until October 8, Activision is prepared to roll out new maps and modes as the days progress. One issue, however, has been consistent on all the released maps: the doors. Black Ops 7 players are unhappy with the new doors and are requesting that they be changed.
Black Ops 7 Beta Players Complain About New Doors
Battlefield 6 held its open beta in August, and it seriously impressed a lot of players who had been growing tired of the war shooter genre. Black Ops 7, on the other hand, has not managed to hit the mark in the same way as Battlefield 6, with the early open beta numbers being only a fraction of what they were for Battlefield earlier this year.
As is typical with open betas, there is a megathread on Reddit for the purpose of talking about the positives and negatives of the game. While there are some positives, such as the operative abilities and maps, there is one glaring negative for fans in the competitive space: the doors.
The doors in the new Black Ops title are all automatic, opening quickly when someone gets near them. This immediately removes any tactical advantage you might have around the door, giving you little opportunity to take cover.
One user on the megathread stated, “These doors have to f***ing go, these maps seem pretty good, but the doors are just really rough.” Another user said, “I f***ing hate the new doors. There should be no doors ffs.” One more user added that the doors keep closing when a grenade is thrown, killing them in the process from the grenade bouncing back. Others gave a callback to Modern Warfare 2019, calling it Modern Doorfare.
The consensus seems to be that players want the doors removed. This way, they won’t need to worry about others sneaking around, manipulating the doors, or grenades bouncing back.
