Indie game developers have the pleasure of working closely with the community to fine-tune player experience. That is true of the team at Leap Studio and its upcoming game Realm of Ink. After several playtests and demos of the roguelite, it will enter Early Access at the end of September.

Realm of Ink will enter Early Access on PC on September 27. It’s a blend of 2.5D painting and modern art that creates a stunningly captivating work of art inspired by Chinese inspired ink-styles. It was originally set to enter Early Access in May, but was delayed to give the development team more time to work on the game and ensure it runs smoothly. The team did hit the quarter three release and is expecting to unveil the official v1.0 by the second quarter of 2025.

You play as Red the Swordswoman and can choose form nine forms and multiple weapons as you adventure through the game. As a roguelike, you’ll set off from the world hub interacting with characters, collecting items, and learning more about the world each time you die and respawn. Each level features various enemies to slay and challenging bosses to bring down. The Early Access release will contain perks, Ink Pets, 4-act levels, eight bosses, and an overall final boss.

As it will be Early Access, only 70% of the content and functions of the Fox Inn will be available. This means 30% of content will await you in the full release in 2025. Yet, as it is a roguelike, players will be able to spend hours attempting to beat the game and unlock the ending. In that time, indie team Leap Studio team will be looking at player feedback to enhance the game and provide the best experience for players when it officially releases.

There is a demo available to check out the game ahead of the Early Access release. It features 50% of the storyline and a brand new design for the first area. You can Wishlist Realm of Ink on Steam.
