Zenless Zone Zero has people shipping, thirsting, or just respectfully admiring an initial lineup of characters. However, respect is still to be given to the game that put MiHoYo on everyone’s radar. Genshin Impact has now amassed around 80 playable characters since its launch. Out of that roster there are 12 eligible and playable Teyvat bachelors. Do they all have similar models? They sure do (“Tall Male” model, anyone?). But each male character still has their own unique design and characterization that can help distinguish the bookish from the boorish; the upstanding citizen from the rapscallion. With such lore and care put into each these male characters, its hard not to ship or pine after them. Which begs the question: Would any of these characters actually make a good partner?
Best Husbandos in Genshin Impact
Alhaitham

Title: The Admonishing Instruction
Traits: Aloof, straightforward, intelligent, values information above all else, logical, self-involved, unbothered, not social.
Verdict: Outright no. Just admire him from afar.
Reasoning: Sure, he’s pretty. But Alhaitham is not interested in social relationships nor in maintaining any that he has formed by accident. You’d probably end up doing the heavy lifting in all areas of the relationship and get very little in return (just ask Kaveh . . . ). Plus, if you do get something, it will probably be a lecture or a quid pro quo “favor”. Definitely not for the faint of heart and might bring out more a “relationship of convenience” if anything at all.
Kamisato Ayato

Title: Pillar of Fortitude
Traits: Responsible, dutiful, composed, well-mannered, a little too perfect, hard to read, family man, busy, values loyalty.
Verdict: No. He’s taken already . . . by his job.
Reasoning: Push those thoughts of being a power couple out of the way cos Ayato gives off self-imposed martyrdom. Most of the people in his life help from the margins as he takes on everything himself. As a result, he doesn’t have a healthy relationship with his work, his family/friends, and even himself. Also, his weird comment about liking dogs over cats because they’ll do whatever you tell them is just a little off-putting . . .
Baizhu

Title: Beyond Mortality
Traits: Enigmatic, caring, patient, hardworking/work-a-holic, a little morbid, solution-oriented, has some edge.
Verdict: Maybe. Yes, if you’re a morbid person.
Reasoning: Nothing wrong with having a doctor in your life! If you’re a career-oriented person, then it might be a match as Baizhu works a lot. Yet, he has this fascination with mortality that can come off a bit morbid. Like, in the Dr. Frankenstein way, not in the death-positive way. Maybe you’re into that though!
Diluc

Title: The Dark Side of Dawn
Traits: Honorable, principled, well-liked, dutiful, calm and collected, caring, homebody, well-mannered, slightly introverted.
Verdict: Yes. Especially if you value stability and a quiet life.
Reasoning: Do you like Alhaitham’s introvertedness, but not his almost problem-inducing disdain for being social? Then Diluc might be your person. He’s introverted, but has good manners and a caring nature that allows him to be well-liked. Being honorable by sticking to his principles and duties is a plus as well since you know he stands for something other than himself or unjust systems. Also, being a homebody allows for a good work-life balance which means some time for romance.
Arataki Itto

Title: Hanamizaka Heroics
Traits: Class clown, child-like, simple, good self-esteem/loves himself, free spirit, flashy, loud, fun-loving, prideful, competitive.
Verdict: Maybe. He’s here for a good time, not a long time.
Reasoning: Look, Itto would not be a bad date and would probably be a fun boyfriend. Someone that picks you up when you’re down and that brings a little boyish charm into your life. Plus, if you’re pretty competitive, then he’s definitely a great date. Just be careful that you don’t become the only responsible one in the relationship. His abs are a plus, if you’re into that.
Kaeya

Title: Frostwind Swordsman
Traits: Mischievous, button-pusher, charismatic, does not live to work, a bit of a slacker, extroverted, wants to be wanted.
Verdict: Yes. For those with a little more fire and a thick skin.
Reasoning: Could easily be a ladies man, but is instead popular with the elderly. He’s definitely the guy you can take home to grandma (stable job, charming, good looking) and still have some fun times going out. Definitely a great fit for someone that wants someone outgoing, but isn’t a total dude-bro about it. However, he may not be everyone’s cup of tea as his mischievous side may cause some hard-to-read situations that may lead to frustration (and not the good kind).
Kaveh

Title: Empyrean Reflection
Traits: Open-minded, empathetic, thoughtful, passionate about craft, artistic, heart-on-sleeve, easily blinded by ideals, sometimes impractical, total Cancer (derogatory).
Verdict: Yes. This one for the artsy and super empathetic people out there.
Reasoning: If you love being in your feels or need some softness in your life, then Kaveh is the ideal person for you. He is open to people and empathetic to their needs; pretty much would give the shirt off his back to someone in need seeking nothing in return. He’d definitely care about his partner, but would need someone that would prevent him from giving too much of himself and burning out. He’s an all-around good guy!
Neuvillette

Title: Ordainer of Inexorable Judgment
Traits: Straightforward, aloof, professional, bad with people (but tries), father-like figure, honor-bound to job.
Verdict: Soft yes. Stickler for the rules, but at least he has feelings about it.
Reasoning: Neuvillette definitely isn’t a barrel of laughs, so all you “they have to have a sense of humor” peeps have to look elsewhere. However, he is at least trying to get better about his basic people skills by going out and practicing (how very Mr. Darcy of him). Though, what he lacks in charisma he makes up for in honor and professionalism. Definitely more for those seeking the other half to their power couple and those who aren’t too keen on people with a lot of personality or bravado.
Tartaglia

Title: Childe
Traits: Thrillseeker, prideful, straightforward, family-oriented, self-proclaimed bad boy, “means justify the ends” kind of person.
Verdict: Soft no. He could be a lot worse, but why risk it . . .
Reasoning: While his inner-circle of friends and family may have access to his better qualities, it seems like any outsider may have a harder time piercing through. His line of work also seems to be a little risky to have any further attachments beyond those already in his care. It may be worth it to work your way into his heart as he would probably move mountains and lay his life down for you. But you shouldn’t work too hard to gain the affections of anyone (IMO).
Thoma

Title: Protector From Afar
Traits: Personable, helpful, easy-going, serious when needed, makes lemonade out of lemons.
Verdict: Yes. Guy next door energy.
Reasoning: Thoma is just a sweet guy that gives a good balance of focused and easy-going vibes. Definitely just your average dude being a dude—enjoying the good times and getting through the bad times with relative ease. You can’t really go wrong if you’re into those friends-to-lover relationships or just cinnamon roll-type people.
Wriothesley

Title: Emissary of Solitary Iniquity
Traits: Dependable, protective, collected (until pushed).
Verdict: No. Please let him go to therapy first.
Reasoning: With a tear (or rage) inducing backstory, Wriothesley is someone that just skipped therapy and went straight to changing the system that did not help him when he was younger. The only relationship he needs to have right now is one with a therapist.
Zhongli

Title: Vago Mundo
Traits: Courteous, traditional, reserved, gentlemanly, bad with finances.
Verdict: No. Might as well just throw your Mora into the sea.
Reasoning: Sure, he’s a 10, but can he actually manage money? Love doesn’t pay the bills and you’ll be lucky if you even go Dutch on dates with Zhongli—the guy that can’t grasp the concept of money. Which is hilarious since he invented said concept. It also needs to be pointed out that he didn’t even plan for his retirement? In this economy? Bye.
