An Alarming Development quest walkthrough in Disney Dreamlight Valley
An Alarming Development is Oswald’s level four friendship quest. This quest becomes available after raising Oswald’s friendship level to four and completing his previous quest called Oswald’s Many Dimensions. The first step of this quest is to build an Oswaldian Alarm Clock but it won’t be easy.
How to build the Oswaldian Alarm Clock in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To build the Oswaldian Alarm Clock, you will need the following items:
- 35 Mechanical Parts – Crafted using Brass Ingots and Bronze Ingots
- 50 Plastic Scrap – Obtained by fishing in open water around Ancient’s Landing
- 10 Zinc – Found by breaking rock spots around Ancient’s Landing
- 15 Bronze Ingot – Crafted using Tin, Copper, and Coal Ore

After giving Oswald the alarm clocks, you will need to wait for 10 minutes. In the meantime, you can complete some Star Path duties or work on another objective such as unlocking Daisy Duck. After the 10 minutes pass, check in on Oswald. The alarm clocks are on the loose! You need to catch them!
Where to find the alarm clock in Disney Dreamlight Valley
During a conversation with Oswald, he will tell you that the alarm clocks are on the loose and talk about the several clocks that you must find around Eternity Isle. Check the following areas for them:
- Charleston – Running around The Docks section of Ancients Landing
- Foxtrot – Running around The Wastes section of the Glittering Dunes
- Texas Tommy – Running around The Promenade section of the Wild Tangle
- Lindy Hop – Running around The Plains section of the Glittering Dunes
- Tango – Running around The Borderlands section of the Glittering Dunes
- Shimmy – Running around The Grasslands section of the Wild Tangle
- Swing – Running around The Lagoon section of the Wild Tangle

Bring the alarm clocks to Oswald and he will tell you that there are three more that are still out there. It seems the clocks have multiplied. The rest of these clocks can be found in the following locations:
- Conga – Under a rock in the Wild Tangle that is letting off a ringing noise. We found it in the Lagoon.
- Waltz – Buried partially in the sand in the Glittering Dunes. We found it in the Borderlands.
- Rumba – In the water off the Docks in Ancients Landing. Found by fishing an orange node that ticks.
Bring the last of the alarm clocks to Oswald. Afterward, you will be tasked with talking to Olaf to see if he can calm down these rambunctious alarm clocks. When the conversation is over, go to Oswald’s house. You will now need to wait around in Oswald’s house listening to alarm clocks ring while Olaf tells a bedtime story.
Once the clocks are asleep, you will need to gather resources to make Oswald’s Black (and White) Coffee. Find the following ingredients:
- 40 Coal – Found by destroying rock spots
- 28 Pearls – Can be dig up in Ancients Landing
- 4 Oswaldian Garlic – Given to you by Oswald at the start of the quest step
With all the ingredients in hand, head to a crafting station to make the coffee (not a cooking station). Give the coffee to Merlin, Rapunzel, Gaston, and Scrooge McDuck.

With the coffee delivered, talk to Oswald and he will request that you decorate for a friendship picnic. Place various pieces of black and white furniture around the valley and then talk to Oswald. You will not need to place a black and white parasol. Afterward, take a picture of the picnic and talk to Oswald one final time to end the quest.
