If you are experiencing any issues, be sure to try checking and resetting your internet and making sure you are playing with the most up-to-date version of the game. If you are on PC and have mods on, be sure to check that they are updated as well.
How to check Fallout 76 server status
The best way to see how Fallout 76 is currently performing is to see the Bethesda.net Status Portal. This page has an up-to-date status for all of Bethesda’s live service games, including Fallout 76. If there is a green circle next to the game, everything is showing fine on the server side. An orange triangle means partial outage, and a red X means the game is completely down currently. If, instead of those symbols, you see a wrench, that means that Fallout 76 is currently undergoing maintenance and will be back up within a few hours.
