Final Fantasy 16 is a pretty standard action RPG with tons of combat and a long list of abilities that you will eventually get access to. The game features fantastic quests and a riveting storyline that will keep you interested the whole way through.

As you progress through the game, you will level up. While at first, you will gain these levels rather quickly, later in the story the pace will slow down. Of course, those who want to make the game easier will probably want to grind experience to reach the max level quickly. What is the level cap in Final Fantasy 16?

What is the max level in FF16?

The max level you can get to in your first playthrough of Final Fantasy 16 is level 50. That’s right, the level cap is 50. That is, for the first time you go through the game. When you start new game plus, the level cap jumps up to 100.

This is very standard for modern Final Fantasy games. Many Square Enix games have a level cap of 50 including the recent Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Final Fantasy 16 is filled with combat so you shouldn’t have trouble hitting the level cap before the end of the game. If needed, there is also the Scholar’s Spectacles pre-order item that increases your experience gains by 10%. Be sure to complete all of the side quests to get as much experience as you can to hit that max level faster.

As you level up in the game, you will need to collect more and more items to make sure your stats are as high as they can be. Be sure to also equip the Cait Sith Charm to get an extra 25% bonus Gil for each fight. This will help you get more weapons and armor, making the game much easier.
