Shrines are back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and they can be found all over Hyrule. The more of these Shrines you complete, the more power Link will gain and the greater chance you have to defeat Demon King Ganon.
The first Shrine you come across in Tears of the Kingdom is the Ukouh Shrine. This puzzle is a great means of introducing you to the concept of Shrines, especially if you haven’t played Breath of the Wild. This guide will show you how to complete the Ukouh Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Ukouh Shrine solution in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Ukouh Shrine is the first Shrine in the game. After failing to open the door with Link’s new hand, you will be shown where the Shrine is. Follow the pathway over to the large rock and climb up to the entrance of the Ukouh Shrine.
Once you are inside the Shrine, you will be greeted by Rauru, the original owner of the arm. He will grant you the Ultrahand ability before beginning the puzzle. You will need this going forward.
With the Ultrahand ability unlocked, head deeper into the Shrine and look to the right. You should see a stone slab. Use the Ultrahand to pick up the stone slab and place it over the gap creating a bridge.
Cross the gap and you will spot another gap only this one is much larger. Grab the two stone slabs to the right of the gap and use the Ultrahand to fuse them together. This will create a long enough bridge to cross the second gap.
With both gaps crossed, go deeper into the Shrine to find a hook and a wooden platform. They will be next to a rail. Use the Ultrahand to lay the wooden platform flat on the ground. Grab the hook and stick it to the platform. Grab the newly formed object and place the hook on the rail like in the image below.
Let go of the object and jump onto the wooden platform. This will allow you to ride the rail down to the end of the Shrine. Interact with the statue at the end to complete the Shrine.
