During your journey in Fallout 76, you will see all kinds of locations. While the adventure is still there, there really isn’t a singular base for you to go back to for preparation. Instead, you are able to place a portable pack, called a CAMP, around the place where you can establish your base. After playing for a bit, you should have a good understanding of how this works, but if you are new or returning after a long break, you may have forgotten. Here is how to place your CAMP in Fallout 76.
How to set a CAMP in Fallout 76
To place your CAMP in Fallout 76, you will need to use your Pip-Boy. If playing on PC, press Tab and then Z. On console, press B (Xbox) or Circle (PlayStation) to open the Pip-Boy, then LB (Xbox) or L1 (PlayStation). If you have placed your CAMP down in another location, you will have to pay a small Cap fee to deactivate that one and put a new one somewhere.
As you are looking for somewhere to place your CAMP, try and find somewhere with flat ground. You also cannot place it too close to a town or other occupied area. CAMPs need to be set in the wilderness. If the area around the device is green, you are good to set it down.
Note: If you move your CAMP, all items that you had placed in it before will be stored away. It won’t cost you anything to put them down again, but they will not automatically be set in the same configuration as before due to environmental roadblocks.
Your CAMP can work as your little home wherever you are in the wilderness. Be sure to find a good spot you like for it and set up base.
