Pals have moves called skills. These are the basic attacks and abilities that they use during combat. Pal skills range from weak attacks that brush enemies aside to massive jolts of electricity that electrify and stun opponents. What skills your Pal knows determine how powerful they are and what kind of damage they can deal.
After you work on catching a Pal, you need to go about leveling it up. After a while, however, you will also want to teach it new abilities to make it even stronger. This guide will show you how to teach and swap skills in Palworld. There are all sorts of Pal skills to find.
How to teach Pals new skills in Palworld
If you want to teach a Pal a new skill, you can do so by leveling it up or by finding Skill Fruits. Let’s first talk about leveling. As you complete survival tasks such as crafting, collecting resources, and challenging opponents, your Pals will gain experience and level up. Through this process, they will naturally learn new skills.

While your Pals are leveling up, you can also find Skill Fruits. These fruits grow on glowing trees and typically come in small batches. Pick these fruits when you find them and feed one to a Pal to teach it a new skill. For instance, we taught a Pal to use the Grass Tornado skill using one of these fruits.
How to swap Pal skills in Palworld
If your Pal knows too many skills, you will need to swap one out to make room for a new one. To swap skills, start by going to the party menu. Once there, select the Pal you want to swap skills.

Choose which skill you want to swap and select it with the A button or the left mouse button. This will bring up the other skills your Pal doesn’t currently have equipped (if there are any). Simply select the skill you want to swap this skill to and you are good to go.
