The Pumpkin King Jack Skellington has returned! It certainly doesn’t feel like Christmas or Halloween without him. Jack wants to complete some Christmas experiments and he needs your help. The Scientific Method quest has begun! Help Jack out by getting him some new equipment to use for his experiments.
There are plenty of quests to complete in Dreamlight Valley. If you haven’t started the Rift in Time expansion, you still have plenty of quests that involve Jack. For now, it is time to get to work on some scientific formulas. Get your hazmat gear ready. Here is The Scientific Method quest guide for Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley – The Scientific Method quest Walkthrough
The Scientific Method is Jack Skellington’s level four friendship quest. To unlock this quest, you need to level Jack up to level four. Afterward, talk to him to begin the quest. Your first task will be to go to the Vitalys Mine and find Jack. Jack can be found in the hidden room on the right side of the mines.
How to craft the Scientific Kit
Talk to Jack in the mines and he will ask you to grab the following ingredients from the following locations:
- Softwood – Found in the Plaza and the Peaceful Meadow
- Coal Ore – Obtained by mining rock spots in any biome
- Empty Vial – Crafted from Glass
- Fabric – Crafted from Cotton
- Iron Ingot – Crafted from Iron Ore and Coal
Once you have all of the items, craft the Scientific Kit at a crafting station. It can be found under the Functional Items tab. bring the Scientific Kit to Jack. You will now need to go to the Vitalys Mines again. Make sure to bring six Night Shards with you or you will need to turn around. Give the Night Shards to Jack in the mines.
Jack will turn the Night Shards into a powder and do some tinkering to create a giant Night Thorn. This won’t do. Go talk to Merlin. You will now need to find potions in Merlin’s Library.
Where to find the potions in Merlin’s Library
There are four potions that you need to locate inside Merlin’s Library. They are found in the following locations:
- Yellow Potion – Potion shelves near the door
- Green Potion – Shelf in the back left corner
- Blue Potion – On the desk in the center of the room
- Purple Potion – Next to the bookshelf on the right side of the room
You need to use the correct potion on the Night Thorn to make it go away. The correct potion to use is the Yellow Potion. It is called the Day’s Leaf Potion in your inventory.
After pouring this potion on the giant Night Thorn, talk to Jack. The Night Thorn will shrink into a sprout. Pick up the Night Thorn Sprout and give it to Jack. After a brief conversation, the quest will be complete.
