Every faction in XDefiant has special abilities you can deploy to help you get kills and win the match. If you are Echelon, you can track players through walls or choose to turn invisible. If you are Dedsec, however, you have a deadly Spiderbot that you can deploy that will cling to the face of an enemy, making them easy to take down. If you are on the receiving end of the Spiderbot attack, you are out of luck unless you know how to remove it quickly. This is the difference between staying alive or getting killed by one of the Dedsec members. Here is how to counter Dedsec’s Spiderbot in XDefiant.

How to keep Spiderbots away in XDefiant

Spiderbots move quickly and can be hard to spot in XDefiant. Because of this, you might have a difficult time shooting one before it clings to your face. If you happen to spot one on the move, you can disable it with a few quick shots or a grenade. If this fails, you can easily destroy it with a well-timed melee attack as it jumps in the air.

Of course, if you don’t time this correctly, you will still get stuck with a spider on your face. The community has figured out a nice trick to help you get the spider off quickly without much worry. If you have the Spiderbot clinging to your face, look down as quickly as possible and shoot. This should knock the spider off rather quickly. It also helps to stay in a group. If you have at least one teammate with you, they can shoot the spider off your face.

These tricks have helped many get free of Dedsec’s nerve-racking ability. Unfortunately, this will not help you if you have fallen victim to one of XDefiant’s worst abilities; the Intel Suit.
