Even more super-powered characters have been shown coming to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. The fighting roster continues to expand, this time with more well-regarded characters. Beerus and his teacher Whis take a break from chowing down to fight, and Future Gohan and Trunks (Sword) come back in time. Android 17 (DBZ), Adult Gohan, and Videl from the Buu Saga round out the latest announced newcomers.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a new gameplay trailer seeing these characters in action, but YouTuber SLOplays posted on their Twitter the above screenshots taken from a Japanese magazine.
With how many characters will be playable at Sparking! Zero’s launch, it’s not necessarily shocking to see Beerus and Whis shown off, but Future Gohan, in particular, is a pleasant surprise, and he even only has one arm, his other being removed by Androids 17 and 18 in Future Trunks’ home timeline.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has many versions of the same characters throughout its roster. This allows the game to have dozens of fighting styles and abilities spread out across characters in different forms and periods throughout the Dragon Ball timeline. The two versions of Gohan shown here join the already-announced Kid Gohan. Beast Gohan, Teen Gohan, and Great Saiyaman are yet to be shown but are expected at some point. Trunks with his sword joins his Cell Games and Dragon Ball Super versions already announced.
The more roster announcements we see from Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the more happy we get. While we are not fighting game pros by any stretch of the imagination, seeing so many characters picked from various aspects of the Dragon Ball timeline is special. We’ve already seen dozens of Goku and Vegeta, but now we get to see more favorites from all points of reference male their way in.
