One of the most highly requested crossovers for Dead by Daylight has been announced as Five Nights at Freddy’s, the popular game series that had its first movie release last year, will be coming to the game in 2025. The news was announced in an X post that doesn’t give any other details.
As of this writing, we don’t know who exactly will appear in Dead by Daylight, but it’s pretty easy to speculate. Springtrap would be our guess to be a new playable Killer added to the game, with Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxie skins to adorn your favorite animatronic. While that’s easy to point out, we are not sure if any Survivors will be added or what abilities Springtrap would have.
Dead by Daylight, like many other popular video games these days, is no stranger to crossovers. Just recently, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider and Vecna from Dungeons & Dragons have appeared in the game alongside many other recognizable characters. Dracula from Castlevania is also set to arrive in Dead by Daylight later this year.
Now that most classic horror movie icons have been brought to the game, it seems they are branching out to more areas. Where Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Ghostface, and more take up iconic slots on the roster, Five Nights at Freddy’s is easily the biggest modern-day horror franchise. Its position in Dead by Daylight makes sense.
Given that we are not out of summer 2024 yet, giving us a release date for Dead by Daylight x Five Nights at Freddy’s, which is a year away, seems pretty extensive. If we were to guess, we would say that the two sides were finally able to come to an agreement, and this announcement was made very early in the development process.
