Gameloft has just announced the DreamSnap update that promises to give players a new way to earn Moonstones.
Updates have been coming left and right since Disney Dreamlight Valley was released almost a year ago. Thankfully, these updates have included new characters, additional stories, and more items to decorate the valley with. Fans have enjoyed the content a great deal, but there is one thing that has been a constant complaint; Moonstones. Moonstones are the currency needed to purchase premium shop items and to expand the Star Paths. Thanks to the outrageous premium shop prices, many players have complained that Moonstones aren’t worth it. That just might change with the upcoming update. Let’s dive into it and see what we can expect.
The tweet sent out by Gameloft is one of three. This first one expresses what we can expect in the upcoming update including:
- Weekly photo challenges
- Voting
- Weekly Moonstones
There is more that was teased but this is the information we have to go off of for right now. This new feature is called DreamSnaps and it appears to be a way to submit photos to earn Moonstones each week. Perhaps we will be required to get photos of specific locations or items in the game in exchange for a small amount of Moonstones.
Gameloft mentioned in another tweet that this feature will receive continuous updates and “evolve over the coming months.” Fans are obvious excited as the first response to this update stated:
We agree with @Fabbigaming. Anything that will get the community to come together and earn some free Moonstones is a win in our book and a way to get around those insanely high premium shop prices. Now if they would just lower the prices it would be even better.
We can probably expect Vanellope Von Schweetz to make an appearance with this update. After all, she is supposed to race into the valley with the summer update and will be a welcome sight.
