Gameloft finally lifted the black-and-white curtain and unveiled that Oswald would indeed be coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley. The only catch is that he will be part of the paid expansion titled A Rift in Time. The Lucky Rabbit made his debut by jumping and dancing around what appears to be a musical puzzle in the ruins of Eternity Isle and fans are already in love with this little bunny. While hesitant at the idea at first, many love how Gameloft implemented his character design.

For those who don’t know, Oswald is the original character from Walt Disney Animations that debuted in 1927, nearly 100 years ago, and is the only character from the company that is older than Mickey Mouse. User MonkeyDLenny took to Reddit yesterday to ask others what they think of Oswald’s new look and the response has been great.

Oswald is finally here! What do you guys think of how different he looks from other villagers?

The first response on the post reads, “He is just so silly and whimsical I’m absolutely losing my mind, such a precious little guy.” After this, many commented showing their love for the character. Some specifically called out the cell-shaded design of him and the capybara on the promo image for A Spark of Imagination. Some even called him the “cutest character in the game.”

One of the biggest comments is about how people are relieved they didn’t use the version of Oswald from Epic Mickey. Instead, many are pleased that Gameloft is giving Oswald his own identity that makes him stand out from the others. One user commented, “Personally, I LOVE how unique he looks! I was fully expecting him to just look the way he did in Epic Mickey, so this is a pleasant surprise. I’d buy black and white cel-shaded Dream Styles like this for Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in a heartbeat!” Don’t worry, we would break out our wallets as well for cel-shaded skins of the classic characters.
