Fallout has been on the rise over the last week thanks to the massive success of the TV series launching on Amazon Prime. Now that fans have had time to take in the show and its colorful cast of characters, many agree that Maximus isn’t quite as strong of a character as the rest of the main cast. Some believe he was even outperformed by some of the side characters in the show, namely Thaddeus.

After pondering our time with these great characters, we agree that Maximus’ character never really had a chance to shine during the first season where both Lucy and The Ghoul had amazing moments that really built up their characters.

In a post on X, Fallout Films asked fans what they think of Maximus now that they’ve had a chance to finish the series. One fan commented stating, “He starts in a worse place than the other main characters, and regardless of some decent or even good moments later in the season, he never quite got out of that early hole.” Another user commented, “Annoying but he has a lot of potential, I really loved his final moments in the season unironically because of the hole he unknowingly dug himself into.”

It seems that fans agree that Maximus dug himself into a hole with his moral ambiguity and he never really managed to get out of it. Many are hopeful about his character moving and want to see where his character goes in season two. A user commented, “He doesn’t know where to stand. He was once an NCR citizen turned Brotherhood, now going back I bet it’s gonna trigger some things in Maximus moving forward as we get more of the NCR moving forward.” Others stated that they are “excited to see where his character goes in season two.” We will need to see where things go in the future but at least the actor did a great job in the role.
