Game leaks are inevitable for a game like Helldivers 2. Players are constantly looking into the code to see if they can find something new that will be added in the future. Because of this, players have seen images of the Illuminate faction models despite them not being in the game. One of the latest leaks suggests that a possible guild or clan feature could be coming to Helldivers 2. This new Helldivers 2 system is referred to as “Platoons” and it seems to tie into the “Clan Stratagem” leak from a while back.
Recently, Helldivers 2 got a massive update that reworked parts of the game that players have been asking for. Arrowhead added invite-only lobbies, reverted the patrol spawns, and adjusted many of the game’s weapons. Before this, however, players were asking for much more social options. For instance, some wanted more emotes while others were asking for a much bigger system such as guilds or clans. Those asking for a clan system might just see that in the future if this leak is to be believed.
Helldivers 2 leaker, IronS1ghts, posted some new information about future social options to the Helldivers 2 leaks Reddit page. In this post, you can see various file numbers with descriptions such as, “Welcome to the Platoon page, Join a Platoon today,” and “Kick from Platoon.” These are all options that seem to link to a clan system. The options range from the ability to join a Platoon, look at invitations, name a Platoon, and more.
A while back, YouTuber Venatix, showed off a “Clan Nuke Stratagem” with the ability to obliterate nearly any marker on the map that isn’t an objective. These “Clan Stratagems” are likely part of the Platoons, allowing players to pool their resources together to purchase stronger Stratagems only usable by fellow Platoon members.
A clan system would add more depth to the game and give players a way to get stronger weapons, stratagems, and more. Information from the leak suggests that clans will get access to a “Platoon Station” which can be moved around the map. This area will allow Platoon members to interact with one another and set up missions together. There is no information to suggest when this addition will come to Helldivers 2 or if it will be added, but it would help add more depth to the game and give Helldivers a new way to interact with one another.
