Weapon customization is something that Helldivers 2 players have been asking about for a while now. Since the game was released almost a year ago, Arrowhead has steadily added features that players have asked for. For instance, we recently got the Illuminate added to the game during The Game Awards along with melee weapons and vehicles. One of the biggest features that has still not been added is weapon customization but Helldivers 2 leaker IronS1ghts says it “is being worked on.”
Recently, Helldivers 2 CCO Pilestedt has been chatting with players and confirmed his stance on DEI in gaming by saying that “games should be a pure pursuit of amazing moments.” The CCO also drew the line on where collaborations will end with Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 leak shows more weapon customization
Almost a month ago, popular Helldivers 2 leaker IronS1ghts posted about the weapon customization system in the game saying that the UI was “very buggy.” Since then, the leaker has been toying with the in-game feature and it appears to be getting worked on. In the latest post about the weapon customization system, IronS1ghts showcased a drum mag being attached to the Diligence and the stats changing.
Attached to the post, the leaker also showed an image of the different sights you can equip onto your weapons. They also said that weapon skins should be added to the system as well. IronS1ghts finished the post by saying, “I still can’t guarantee if this will be made available, however, it is looking VERY promising. I personally think we will see it slowly introduced on a small scale at first, with limited functionality.”
So far, there isn’t much to go off with the customization system but it does appear to be getting work on by the developers. Hopefully, we can see the system take shape here in a few months and get implemented into Helldivers 2.
