Hexworks has officially released a patch that fixes the issues fans had with the new game plus mode in Lords of the Fallen. This new update addresses the Vestige issue that many fans have shed light on. Traditionally, NG+ players would have to go through the game without any Vestiges, making the game much harder and introducing an extra layer of fear while trying to explore the game’s many locations.

Thanks to the new update that was released on October 22, 2023, fans no longer need to enter NG+ to restart their run. Instead, they can simply reset their world and start over from the beginning. As shown in the patch notes on the official Reddit Page, the recent update allows players to replay their current game instead of going into NG+. This way, achievement hunters can gather achievements without needing to go the extra mile.

That isn’t all, the post also states that there will be another update on Thursday to further address the issue. The next patch will make it so the Vestiges disappear a little at a time rather than make all of them disappear all at once. In NG+1, some will disappear, more will disappear in NG+2, and so on.

The post states that the change is to help fans but to also keep the “initial version intact.” This is a great way to alter the NG+ modes in Lords of the Fallen without needing to completely remake the whole game mode. It also gives players a way to gradually get used to the higher difficulty without needing to jump head-first into the deep end.

Are you a fan of the way that Hexworks is redesigning the new game plus mode? What other changes would you like to see going forward? Are the developers being too easy on those who just can’t git gud?
