It has been a long time since the world has talked about Lies of P. This game featuring Pinocchio took Soulslike fans by surprise thanks to its smooth gameplay, dark story, and incredible combat. Now, developer NEOWIZ has a chance to surprise fans once again. Announced during the State of Play on February 13, 2025, Lies of P will be getting a DLC called Overture which will take players back in time to the start of the puppet frenzy that destroyed Krat.
The last we heard about Lies of P, the team stated that a DLC would be coming. At the time, however, they mentioned it would be coming in Q1 of 2025. Instead, it will be arriving a bit later than expected.
Lies of P: Overture dropping later this year
Lies of P: Overture was revealed during the State of Play with a minute-and-a-half-long trailer showcasing new gameplay and the return of some beloved characters such as Alidoro who bursts through the window to aid you in battle. Some of the new weapons revealed in the trailer include claws, what appears to be a gunblade, and even a bow.
Overall, the trailer brought the same feeling as seeing the base game’s trailer years ago and it is exciting to finally get a glimpse of it. Lies of P Overture will be released in the Summer of 2025. That is all the information that is known about the release date at this time but it will undoubtedly be narrowed down as we get closer to the summer months.

Shortly after the trailer, Jiwon Choi, the Director of Lies of P, released a statement on the Lies of P X page, detailing the DLC and expressing their excitement. As stated in the post, “As you might have guessed from the title, Lies of P: Overture takes you back in time to uncover the hidden stories of Krat.” Specifically, we will be going back to “experience the harrowing journey” that birthed the start of the puppet massacre.
